Softline expands its activities
Softline announced the acquisition of Umbrella Infocare, which develops cloud technology solutions. The deal is one of the steps to create a modern center of Softline, which will deal with AWS technologies. This direction will allow the company to expand the list of services for the design and provision of cloud solutions, as well as to enter new markets. In total, Softline plans to sell its products in 60 countries.
Umbrella Infocare is based in Delhi, established in 2012, has a staff of 200 employees who are highly skilled in AWS and Citrix. The company has proven competencies in AWS development, maintenance, and other areas, enabling it to provide services in this area globally. In addition, Citrix has granted Platinum Plus partnership status to Umbrella, which confirms the high professionalism of the team.
The acquisition opens new opportunities for Softline to provide services in India, attract new clients, and also allows expanding the list of products. Moreover, India is a promising market for the IT sector. According to IDC, the cumulative growth rate in cloud solutions will be about 21.5% from 2020 to 2025.
It should be noted that the demand for IT products enabled Softline to become one of the largest companies in this segment; its turnover has grown 120 times since 2014. In 2021, Softline bought Embee from India, which holds the leading position in the country among Microsoft cloud solution resellers. The main goal of Softline is to be the leader in the market of cloud services for information security.
The company has been operating since 1993, it was founded in Moscow, but now it is headquartered in London. It has the status of the authorized provider of such technological giants as Citrix, Microsoft, Symantec, Oracle, their total number exceeding 6 thousand. Along with cloud solutions, Softline provides consulting and educational services in the sphere of IT, as well as legal and technical support.
The company’s business structure includes several directions, which are represented in different countries of the world. In 2021, Softline’s turnover increased by 22%; the greatest demand was observed for cloud and hardware solutions.
Initially, the company positioned itself as a supplier of scientific software, but by 1998 the main direction was providing licensed products of Microsoft Corporation and other developers. A year later, Softline opened its own training center, and since 2001, it has launched consulting and distribution lines.
Since 2020, the Company’s head office has been located in London, which allowed it to carry out a public offering on the European stock exchange. In addition, Softline launched a financial service that provides clients with installment payments for the company’s services.
