Network services provider Nile has raised a round of funding
Nile raised US$175 million in a funding round that included March Capital and a Saudi Arabian fund. In addition to the latter, venture capital firms Telecom and Liberty Global, which are part of the Saudi Corporation, were investors in the project.
The founders of the networking startup are John Chambers and Pankaj Patel, former top executives at Cisco Systems Corporation. Nile offers NaaS services – providing and maintaining network infrastructure for businesses. The company is a competitor of Cisco and noted its prospects in the market. The startup does not disclose its valuation with the funds raised, but according to PitchBook, it was worth US$395 million in 2020, with a total investment of US$125 million at the time.

Nile was founded in San Jose in 2018 as a provider of networking services, including wired and wireless solutions for businesses. According to Patel, Nile is well-positioned to take a leading position in the market, displacing traditional players such as Cisco, Aruba Wireless and Juniper Networks. The benefits of startup technology:

The company plans to use the investment to expand its workforce. Nile currently employs 185 specialists but plans to increase this to 210 by expanding its marketing and sales departments. This will allow the start-up to increase its customer base and expand its services globally.
Nile intends to promote its services in the Middle East, facilitated by investment from the Saudi Arabian sovereign fund. The company also plans to expand its position in the European region.
