New Maincubes data center: benefits of the FRA02 facility
Maincubes has invested in a new data center near Frankfurt in Schwalbach am Taunus. The facility is intended to be co-located and uses sustainable design principles in its construction. According to official information from the provider, the FRA02 Maincubes data center will be equipped with a state-of-the-art indirect closed-circuit cooling system. In addition, the facility will be equipped with innovative UPS solutions that run on clean energy, as well as a residual heat recovery system. The project will be completed by 2023.
According to the plan, the data center will have a capacity of 20 MW, its area will be 7 thousand square meters, which will be used for the needs of IT and office segments. The facility is being built to provide maximum security for the deployment and full functioning of the IT infrastructure. In addition to this center, Maincubes intends to start building data processing facilities in the Rhein-Main region in the near future.
The state-of-the-art UPS system is designed to meet all customer security requirements. Thanks to this, the digital infrastructure of the center is protected as much as possible against unauthorized access. To this end, both physical and electronic methods of verification are used, based on biometric data. And the increased attention to authorization will extend to both people and vehicles that enter the facility.
Although the construction of FRA02 is still in progress, one public sector IT entity has signed a contract to lease more of the space.
Maincubes plans to expand its network of data centers in Europe. In doing so, all of the provider’s facilities are being built with sustainable technology and energy efficiency in mind. This way the company wants to contribute to reducing emissions and preserving the environment. Maincubes’ data centers operate with their own resources and with consideration for the various climatic conditions.
Schwalbach near Frankfurt was not chosen for nothing. The energy and telecommunications infrastructure is very well developed. In addition, the conditions are in place to ensure that data centers can operate on a long-term basis. Local power suppliers offer a resource from renewable sources, which is fully in line with the ecological concept of Maincubes. The municipality of Schwalbach is also keen to cooperate with the company, which is extremely interested in attracting the IT sector and developing the digital infrastructure.
One of the solutions for energy saving in the construction of the FRA02 is the cooling technology, which includes reducing the temperature of the walls of the building. For this purpose, powerful heat exchangers are used.
